Shepherd, the AI Bible companion

Shepherd is the AI Bible companion inside the FaithGuide app. Ask it about a verse, a worry or a prayer in your own words and it answers warmly, with real scripture and the reference named. It is gentle, never preachy, and it is built to step back from questions it should not answer.

What Shepherd does

  • Explains a verse or a passage in plain words, with the context around it.
  • Finds scripture for how you feel: anxious, grieving, grateful, weary or hopeful.
  • Helps you put a prayer into words when you cannot find them yourself.
  • Answers questions about the Bible and the Christian faith, welcoming across denominations.
  • Keeps it short. A few honest sentences, not a sermon.

What Shepherd won't do

  • Give medical, legal or financial advice. It will tell you to speak to someone qualified.
  • Quote copyrighted Bibles. It is built to quote only the Berean Standard Bible or the King James Version, and to name the reference.
  • Tell you that prayer alone is enough when you are in danger. If someone is in crisis, Shepherd names real help first.
  • Preach at you, judge you, or argue doctrine.

If you are struggling, please also talk to a doctor or someone you trust. If you are in danger or thinking about ending your life, call your local emergency number now. In Australia, Lifeline is 13 11 14. In the US, call or text 988. In the UK, Samaritans are on 116 123. Elsewhere, findahelpline.com lists free services. Reaching out for help is not a failure of faith.

Questions people ask

What is an AI Bible app?

An AI Bible app lets you ask questions about scripture, faith or a hard day in your own words and get an answer back, rather than searching an index. In FaithGuide that companion is called Shepherd.

Which Bible does Shepherd quote?

Shepherd quotes the Berean Standard Bible or the King James Version and names the reference every time, so you can look the verse up and read it in context.

Is Shepherd a replacement for a pastor or a church?

No. Shepherd is a companion for the moments in between: a question at night, a verse for a worry, words for a prayer. It is not a pastor, and it will point you to people who can help when you need them.

Which denomination is Shepherd?

None in particular. Shepherd is written to be welcoming across Christian backgrounds, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and non-denominational, and it does not argue doctrine with you.

Is Shepherd free?

Yes, to start. Every FaithGuide member gets one conversation and one prayer free every week. A membership gives you more conversations and prayers with Shepherd.
